Templates not upgraded to Masterpages upgrading 3.0.5 to 4.0.1 [Solved]
Just wondered is anyone else has this problem.
Upgrading a site from 3.0.5 to 4.0.1 I find my templates aren't upgraded to masterpages. I've copied the masterpages folder prior to running the install and followed the steps at:
I don't get any errors, permissions settings are correct, I don't have CDATA sections in my templates, though some template names do have spaces in them.
I'm thinking of renaming all templates so they don't have spaces, trying again.
If that fails, I'll try upgrading to 4.0.0, then to 4.0.1 if the first upgrade is successful.
Removing the spaces from names in the templates and upgrading to version 4.0.0 first solved this problem. I'm not sure which of these solved the problem, though I suspect it might have been the spaces in the template names. Thanks to D Robar, I spotted this clue in one of his posts.

Any other thoughts/solutions?
